Yep, sure was this hot at 5:05 tonight.
This morning Syvlie and Eliot called and invited us to explore the river a bit with them. We drove east about half hour to a fork of the river and have to say, had one of the funnest days on record.
{like Lily's sun screen hair?}
It was a hike down to get there, and trying to walk across the slippery rocks, and current was tricky (especially for someone rotund as I) but we ended up finding an AWESOME spot.
We had a blanket on the sand/rocks for when the babies got cold which actually worked great cause the ground was too hot to walk w/out shoes. Lily would take a few steps and then say "hot, hot!" and run back to the safety of the blanket. The rocks made a little ledge to sit on and then it was straight drop into deep crystal clear water.
I cant get over how beautiful it was.
All snacks were demolished by these two. Whenever we get together we often call Lily and Leia the "seagulls" cause the mooch and eat everything.
{mine?}
On the way back curiosity got the best of us and we had to stop here, the Gingerbread House. The best decision ever, well, next to joining Sylvie and Eliot. I had a gingerbread milkshake which was celestial. Chad had a blackberry shake, and then we got some fries.....and then we got an oreo shake to share cause they were THAT good, so thick a straw was impossible.
Today is a day we will remember for a long time, beautiful place, great friends, happy babies, warm sunshine and good food. Hard to beat.

I love the Gingerbread house! We often stopped there when our outings took us down that way. Wish I were there!
That spot on the river looks beautiful! Milkshakes are the best when you are hot!
