and so it begins.

Day one of potty training.
So far, one accident for the whole day!
(mind you it is only 3 pm)
Photobucket
She is more than ready. So I hope this goes faster than planned.
I have waited to do this until I am ready.
Because really, its the mommy that needs to be ready.
Lets face it, diapers are real convenient.
I really have no major opinions about training,
just for me, I have always said:
once I start,
there is NO GOING BACK.
No dipes at nap time, or night time.
Yikes.

So wish me luck folks,
I predict the forecast to be slightly messy the next few weeks..

good luck! we still do pull ups at night- she wakes up dry most nights but sometimes she doesnt. i know most kids get day trained first and then you work on night training next... good luck though, do what is best for you guys! just don't be disappointed if she doesn't get night training right away, it definitely takes longer. :)
stella is napping without pull ups now though so it's great! we did the 3 day potty training method and although even still we have an accident now and then, it really did help. google it if you want. :)

I totally feel the same -- it's the mommy who needs to be ready. I have done a few half-hearted attempts with Sophie, but she totally fights it. Like you said, diapers are more convenient. I don't worry about her still wearing diapers by the time she goes to Kindergarten because I think she will be all over it once her younger sister does it, and that one I can manage.

ps boys are easier to train than girls... i was getting a lot of advice from mommies with boys and was like wth! why isn't this working?! well a little more research revealed the truth... girls are harder to potty train. why? i know not, but maybe because girls are better in every other regard!! bah haha, just kidding. good luck!

good luck. potty training is kind of exciting I pretty much potty train kids at work, and we have the same idea, once you start there is no going back. we have so many parents who start, and then go back to diapers after their child is still having accidents after a couple weeks, then the kid gets all confused and its always more difficult after that. so stay strong.

Good luck! We started w/ Av about a week and a half ago - straight panties all day. She still wears a pull-up to bed, and the majority of the time, (if I get to her before or just as she is waking up) it's dry, and she'll go first thing in the morning... But amen to the mama being ready. That was my biggest hold up. And once we went with it, we stuck with. About day three was the challenge for me, and I'm so glad we stuck with it because she's been doing great - no accidents now for about five days, even to nursery on Sunday! Good luck! Oh, and we also did a sticker potty chart and one m&m each time. (You can look at my blog to see). But that seemed to really encourage her, and now she probably only thinks about those half the time.

You can do it! Cam is basically potty trained, however not really at night. I have heard that takes a bit longer! Good luck!
