this past week:

Has been life changing for me, in a good way.
Long story short, I Chad took a week off work and we weened Maggie from nursing.

That part is bitter-sweet, I mean, nursing is amazing and so special, but I can honestly say my post-partum depression is gone now. I have not felt this good, for like...18 months? Just like that, just like my other babies.
This round with Mags has been damn hard. Exhausting.
The way I describe it: it was like a dark cloud was chasing me, I could out run it for a day, maybe even a week, but if I got tired, or worn out it, it had better enurance than me and catch me. And I would be left overwhelmed, down, anxious an just the opposite person I want raising my girls and being a wife to my husband.
So after a tearful discussion (on my end) Chad and I decided to ween Maggers, I told him that I just couldn't do it alone, and so he took vacation and we did it.
Chad is amazing. He basically 100% Maggies main man the whole week, rocking her, feeding her, holding her, comforting her. And Maggie, she did amazing. She figured out how to 1)take a bottle/sippy (she NEVER has before) and 2) eat LOTS of solids. I am so proud of her.

I wish I was a poet so I could adequately describe how good I feel.

More cool things happened this week too, but I'll blog more about that later.

Happy Sunday night to you!

Sad that you had to stop nursing, but way happy for your sanity and mental health. Way to go Maggie for taking a bottle! Hope you continue to feel good and that your cloud doesn't catch up to you for a very long time :) We miss you guys!
