"you can do it Bruce!"

So I have  a new chocolate cake recipe that I am basically obsessed with.
Why? Because its really good, really easy and I always have the ingredients.
...and chocolate cake always calls for great frosting. Which after some experimenting I have found a couple that i love.

Presenting: Chocolate cake with peanut butter frosting!!!
  • 1 3/4 cup flour
  • 1 1/2 cup sugar
  • 1 (scant) cup cocoa
  • 2 tsp baking soda
  • 1 tsp salt
  • 1 1/2 cup milk (I use soy, buttermilk is ideal)
  • 1/2 shortening, make sure its room temp, very soft
  • 2 eggs
  •  1 tsp vanilla

Dump all that in a bow and mix until smooth.
bake 350 for about 20 minutes.

Its that easy folks!

peanut butter frosting:
  • 1/2 cup butter
  • 1 cup peanut butter (I used chunky)
  • 3 cups (roughly) powdered sugar
  • 1/4 cup milk
mix until smooth and the consistency you want, adding more milk or sugar to make it the way you want it.

Then sprinkle with crumbled up butterfinger.
Enjoy!

(anyone catch the line I used for my title?)

Mmmm! My grandma used to make peanut butter frosting and it was my favorite! A definite must-try for everyone.

Hi, I don't know you, but I heart your recipes! Everytime you post a recipe, it makes me want to run to the kitchen and cook/bake, 'cept I don't have an oven, so I have to content myself with looking at the food pictures. :)
