pumpkin hot chocolate

Today is cold, and not just for us wussys, like, its in the 40's and rainy...that's cold right?
I really wanted to go to Starbucks and get some pumpkin hot chocolate, cause it just seemed like the right thing to do.
But. I am kinda (reeeeally) a  tight wad and decided to stay home and wing it myself.
(like my hot chocolate shelf?)
I have to say, homemade pumpkin hot chocolate is pretty much celestial.
I didn't write down what I did...so here is a rough estimate recipe...like most all of mine are:

two mugs full of milk, pour that into your sauce pan, I used whole milk, OH YES I DID!
about 1/4 scant cup cocoa powder
about 1/3 cup sugar
1/4 cup pumpkin puree
1/2 tsp cinnamon
dash of nutmeg and cloves and ginger (or just use pumpkin pie spice if you have it)
mix that all up and heat until steaming. (I used a whisk cause for some reason, cocoa hates on milk)

I didn't have whip cream, so I dumped some mini mallows in there instead and BAM! Take that Starbucks!

Just finished my second mug:)
like I said before, this is a estimated recipe, so make it your own!

Do you like Chai? I'm not adventurous enough in the kitchen to play around with the approximately 2983705293752057 spices that go into a delicious chai latte but wouldn't mind going with a tried-and-true recipe ;)

Guess I should pack sweaters for next week, eh?
