art

I sat down to write a blog post.
And I am still sitting here and nothing really specific is coming to mind.

But I will tell you that if I had a big allowance, all I would do is buy art.  This is proved by the fact that when I save up my "me" money (we have  tight budget, so its not a whole lot, not very often), I have spend  it on art. I am no art buff, I can't name off famous artists except from the ones I memorized in my humanities class like...8 years ago. I don't know what is considered "good" by critics, but I love being able to look at something and feel it. Does that make sense?

So instead of the super cute wedges at target, I bought this print of Christ:
{From HERE}

And then, I got our family portrait (that you see in my blog header) drawn by THIS GIRL.

And now,
 I am going to be saving for a long time to get this painting (....$370!):
I literally tear up EVERY SINGLE time I look  at it. My children are such gifts, and I fully believe that angels brought them to me. I mean, look at me, as I type this and tears are running down my face.
I read the artist's bio on his site and made me love the piece even more.  I really want to fill my home with beautiful things that inspire my family, and me, to be better and remember what is important.

But, seriously maybe I'll start donating plasma or something?...I am trying really hard to figure out what I can make and sell to save up for it. Any suggestions are welcome...
Any way, look at it HERE

Have you seen his nativity scene? One of my absolute favorites!

Oh man, I would totally donate plasma if we had a donation center near us! Easiest money ever! We paid our rent by doing that when we were in college. Jeff hated it, but I thought it was great, and I loved the free cookies and juice too:) I am so weird, but that was my biggest disappointment in moving here, was that there were no donation centers nearby... I had planned on doing it the rest of my life!

I love your choice in art! Minerva Teichert is one of my favorite artists and the picture of the angels with the baby is beautiful. I had never seen it before, but now I want to save up for it too. Lovely.
