happy

"Anyone who imagines that bliss is normal is going to waste a lot of time running around shouting that he has been robbed. The fact is that most putts don't drop, most beef is tough, most children just grow up to be people, most successful marriages require a high degree of mutual toleration, and most jobs are more dull than otherwise. Life is just like an old time rail journey-delays, sidetracks, smoke, dust, cinders, and jolts interspersed only occasionally by beautiful vistas and thrilling bursts of speed. The trick is to thank the Lord for letting you have a ride."
-Gordon B. Hinckley

I love this. Very real.
I think it is common for people to feel that they are an exception, and that they have it harder than most. But the truth is, you don't have it harder and you are not an exception. Embrace it. Then be grateful.
I Think this is essential to being happy.

oh rachel, i love that quote, and no, I don't think i have it harder than most, most days I do thank the Lord for allowing me to not have to wake up at 5am and go to work, but I can stay home and be a mom and dabble part time. thanks for the reminder though, I still need it!
