next chapter

We are now in the next chapter of our adventure.
Chad got a job.
Seems like a million prayers were said in our behalf.
And those million were answered.
Probably more than we will ever know.
Photobucket
It's at a place we never would have thought of,
doing something he never thought he would do,
its a job though!

I say we are on our next adventure,
because, well, he will be working 70 hours/week.

We have to be a team playing separate games.
It will not be easy, but I know we can do it and it will be good.
We are so grateful.
...but as I type this, it's hard not to miss him.

Can I give you advice if unemployment
ever crosses your path?:
  • Consider all options. We actually were inches away from signing on with the Air Force, We re-vamped my resume and I applied to jobs with the idea Chad would be the stay-at-home-dad and I would work, we came up with plan A,B,C,D,E,F.....almost made it to Z!
  • Set a daily schedule for the job hunt, we did a little longer than business hours for Chad. Then after the girls went down, he could do more. If you don't set a time you will go insane.
  • Pray often, work hard (honestly really work hard) at getting a job, and then leave it up to the Lord. You can only control so much.
  • Remember your blessings. You have SO MUCH.
  • Enjoy the time you have as a family, because it won't last forever.
  • Write down your dreams and goals for your future, it brings hope and happiness on hard days.
  • If you get down, or scared, allot your self a time limit for being sad, then move on. This goes for if you thought you nailed the interview...and didn't, or if you are lonely, anything.
  • Find joy in the small things, you don't need money for fun activities: walks, coloring, building forts, spending time with friends and family....
  • Don't take your frustration out at each other. If you find yourself in a bad mood, step back from the situation and re-group. There is never, ever an excuse for un-kind words.
Remember be happy, life is good. Prove it to yourself.

Congratulations! What a stress-reliever (in some ways). Thanks for the tips. Although we are not currently unemployed, we are looking for a career change and it's been a frustrating process.

Congrats you guys! So good to hear. Sounds like you will both be very busy! Is the 70hour weeks every week all the time? That's crazy. Is it the job you told me about a couple weeks ago? Love you Rach!
